Day 4: Activity 1: Guiding Principles

Today I have completed my first activity for Day 4. This activity was to use a Whakatauki from a site. There were several Whakataukis but you could only choose one. The one that you chose was the one that you put on your poster. On the poster you include the Whakatauki you chose, why it means something to you and a photo that guides the whakatauki.

  1. Hi there Florence! Your poster looks really good. I enjoyed reading about why you chose that Whakatauki, and what it means to you. This was a great choice, I've also written one about family as well. The Whakatauki were very inspirational and motivational, and all something we take pride in. What does your Whakatauki mean to you? I'd say being able to proudly carry on a history of family and ancestors in a new life, or continuing to stand with my people who have given me this chance to express who we are, and who I am. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Keep up the great blogging!

Thank you so much for your blog post! I really appreciate all the effort you put into sharing something important to you. Whakatauki's are really special. I think they carry really strong, important messages. Family is really important and I think it's lovely how much you value your Whanau. Ka pai for all your reffort!

Remember the end of the Summer Learning Journey is next Friday 24th January! Keep up the blogging, commenting and enthusiasm!

  3. Hi Florence,
I liked how you chose that whakatauki because it relates to you. I found the phrase "I come not with my own strengths but bring with me the gifts, talents and strengths of my family, tribe and ancestors." really interesting. What do you think it means?
