Day 4: Activity 2: Celebrating Diversity

Today I have completed my second activity for Day 4. This activity was to look at 4 links that lead to a site or a youtube clip. The link would be about a tribe such as the Mayan people. We were to choose 2 tribes and write 2 facts about them. To get full point you write down  2 facts for each group.

  1. Kia Ora Florence! This is a really cool presentation about the two indigenous communities you chose to talk about. The facts were super interesting as well, like the Mayan people's sacred calendar...I wonder what it looks like. Do you know what indigenous means? Good work!

  2. Kia ora Florence! Olive here from the Summer Learning Journey. How are you doing today?

Thank you for your blog post! I really enjoyed reading about the Mayan and the Ainu people. Did you know that Aboriginal people share their history through art? They have beautiful dot-styles that they use to communicate ancestral stories and their traditional heritage. It's honestly stunning work. Ka pai on all your effort, it's clear you've put a lot of thought and research into this.

Remember the end of the Summer Learning Journey is next Friday 24th January! Keep up the blogging, commenting and enthusiasm!

    Ngā mihi,
    Olive

  3. Hi Florence,
I found it interesting that there are still at least 25,000 Ainu people living in Japan. Something else I found interesting is that the Mayan people speak over 30 Mayan languages. Do you think you could lean 30 languages?
