This week for the summer learning journey I have completed day 2, activity 1. For this activity we had to explain if we would like to do flax weaving. Are we interested in it? Why or why not. Down below is my finished activity.
I would most definitely try flax weaving, because in Samoa we do a lot of designing, and flax weaving is one. I want to learn how to flax weave so I can make my own designs. I would make a flower and bag to start off with. Maybe I could get my family to teach me. It really interests me mostly because its a normal thing Samoans do.
Kia Ora Florence,
ReplyDeleteGreat blog post from you. I like the way that you have layout your google draw. I did this activity too. Nice idea. I chose to do flax weaving too. We have a lot in common. In Tonga we do weaving too. It interests me a lot, because when I see others doing it, it looks really satisfying. Nice Work!
Hello FLorence,
ReplyDeleteNice work completing another activity. I think flax waeving is a bit hard but one you get the hang of it, it will be easy as 1,2,3 right?. Anyways keep it up!.

ReplyDeleteI really like that you are so interested in learning more about flax weaving because it is such an important part of Samoan culture. I think a flower would be a very beautiful thing to weave. Maybe you can get your family to show you over your summer break and then you will have a new skill to share with your friends when you head back to school.
Blog you later,
Izzy
Hello Florence! I really like that you included culture into flax weaving because this is something Tongans do as well. I'd also try it because I could be practising and learning more about my nationality. Your ideas sound pretty great, I think I would craft a bag too. What is something complex that you would like to be able to make out of flax? Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteTalofa lava Florence,
ReplyDeleteI really like how you choose to weave. I decided not to weave because it is confusing and hard to weave. I also like how you wrote a short description/blurb for us to read and thank you for sharing what you have learned during this activity.
Was this activity hard or easy?
