This week fro Inquiry we carried on with our biography slide about our chosen activist. We had to write as much detail as we could about an activist. Our activist that we chose was Rosa Parks. We chose her because we know a lot about her and her story. We were to work in rather a group of 2 or a group of 3. I was in a group of 2. I worked with Victoria. The presentations had to be interactive, meaning that the presentations had to have a quiz for people to play. The presentations we made were to be presented in front of the whole class. In your group every person from your group had to say something about the activist. Victoria and I have a slide showing what parts we say. On the presentation it had to include a biography, the philosophy, history/story and the LS1 application. Our quiz only had 4 questions. The questions could rather be hard or easy. it really depends if you know Rosa Parks or not.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

Persuasive text/Argument | No Phones in school
This week for writing we had to make a Persuasive Argument about an Article from Kiwi Kids news. It was about France banning phones in school. When you finished writing the persuasive argument you had to record a video providing photos of what you are talking about. We had to write a Statement and 3 casual factors. I also included my opinion about this.

We had to go to each station so we could complete it. If we complete it then we had to show the completed work on the google slide. The first station that we finished was station 2. Maui | Lessons
L.I to search information about Maui.
This week for reading we had to do research on information about Maui. I have made a similar D.L.O that I did last week for the Tengu. But the only difference was that we were not allowed to work in partners and that we could only write about one story. The story we used was"Maui and the Sun". I wrote down the questions that were provided on the LS1 Site and I wrote down my answers. Then I wrote about who Maui is. Also I added what the purpose of the Maui and the sun was. Last I added what the book "Maui and the sun" was about.

Comprehension slide | Comparing Myths, legends and fairy tales.
L.I to remind ourselves where each comprehension strategy goes when reading. L.I to find the diferences between This week for reading we learnt the difference between Myths, legends and fairy tales. We also had to remind ourselves where each comprehension strategy goes when you are reading a book. We had to use a triple compare and contrast D.L.O to see what the differences are between the 3. The strategies are Visualizing, inferring,Activating prior knowledge,predicting,self-monitor,synthesize,questioning and summarizing. For these tasks I worked with Farzana. We work together to find out information about the 3 things. For the comprehension slide we wrote down where the comprehension strategies go and we wrote why they should go in the place. For the triple compare and contrast we wrote down the differences and similarity between the 3. We read 2 articles to find out the information we need to put into our D.L.O.
