Day 1: Activity 3: Dear Jacinda

Today I have completed my last activity for Day 1. This activity was to write a letter to Jacinda Ardern. Down below will be the letter and an issue I hope she could fix or work on.

Dear Jacinda,
I am writing this letter to you to ask you if you can fix a problem that has been noticed.  The problem that I have been interested in is Teacher Pay.  I think that you should do something about Teacher pay as Teachers work 6-7 hours a day and they get paid small amounts. Something you could do to help is move faster to resolve the arguments and protests.

  1. Talofa Florence! This was a really well written letter. I'm aware of this issue, but don't have much to say as I'm a child/student and don't understand/know about teacher's pay. I'm glad you decided to choose this, because I was able to do some research. Great blogging!

  3. Great post Florence...you'll have the support of the whole Manaiakalani cluster and the nation behind you! Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!

  4. Hi Florence,
I liked how you said that you're interested in teacher pay. I find it interesting that you said teachers work 6-7 hours a day and only get a small amount of money in return. Did you know that primary school teachers in New Zealand get at least $5 more than the minimum wage?
