Today I have completed my second activity for Day 1 week 1. This activity is a math questions type. Dr Jessa Rogers was born on the 7th of April 1985 and she received an award on the 9th of July 2010. The question was, how many years, Months and days did it take until she got her award? Down below is my answer.
25 Years
3 Months
2 Days.
How did I get that answer??
I started from 1985 + 25 = 2010
April + 3 = July
7 + 2 = 9.
Hi Florence, this is Mrs Collins again from Manaiakalani and I'll be commenting on blogs over term break. Well done on posting and participating in the SLJ this year. Here's my workings out on the problem...
ReplyDelete1985 > 2010 = 25yrs
7th April > end of April = 23 days
May = 31 days
June = 30 days
> 9th July = 9 days
= 23+31+30+9= 93 days
April = 30 days, May = 31 days, June = 30 days (92 days)
2 days left over
= 25 yrs, 3 months and 2 days.
Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!
Hi Florence!,
ReplyDeleteGreat work on completing this SLJ activity. I like how you have explained what you have done for this activity. Reading your solving out was enjoyable. I have the same answer as you for this activity. 25 years, 3 months and 2 days. Did you find this activity difficult?
Great Work!
Hello Florence! This was a great way to work it out, and I like how you were able to simplify how you got it. I also got the same answer, but showing how you worked out the months confused me a bit. This activity definitely seemed like it was quite a challenge, but got more easy when I started solving it. What are your thoughts?
ReplyDeleteHi Florence,
ReplyDeleteI liked how you explained how you got your answer step by step. I also liked how you gave a detailed explanation on what you were doing for this activity. Did you find this problem easy or hard?
