Ancestor Poem

L.I To write a poem to describe your ancestors using the literary devices of alliteration, onomatopoeia, metaphor, simile, hyperbole and rhyme.

For writing we have been writing a poem about our ancestors/culture. We have been learning how to use literary devices to write a powerful poem. I used a thesaurus to change my simple words to powerful ones. I enjoyed writing this poem as I was able to look deeper in to my culture and express who I am.

Haiku Poem 3

LI: To correctly structure and write a three verse haiku poem

Today I have decided to blog another Haiku Poem. This poem is about how Maui slowed the sun, this is a summary of the book but as a Haiku Form. I worked with Victoria for this task, we worked collaboratively to ge this completed. The Haiku structure goes like (5 syllable sentence for the first sentence, then a 7 syllable for the second sentence, then a 5 syllable sentence for the last sentence of he verse) but, for this task we did 5 verses.

Today I have decided to blog my second Haiku challenge. This Haiku is around the topic "winter". This Haiku task was to create a 3 verse story, meaning we have to connect a sentence to the next one. This Haiku challenge I worked with Haylee and Sakina. We worked calloboratively to get this completed, Thank you to Sakina bc she helped with alot of the ideas :).

LI: To correctly structure and write a haiku poem.

Today I have decided to blog the first Haiku Challenge that I created along with Haylee, Sakina and Taheesha. This task was to think of a sentences that have  do with the topic you chose e.g (winter). A Haiku is when you write 3 sentences but the first sentence has to be 5 syllables. The second sentence is 7 syllables and the last is also 5 syllables. For this haiku poem we chose the topic "Ocean". We wrote our sentences then added a picture to show our audience what our text was guiding.

Waltzing Matilda | Summary

This week for reading we  have been looking at a poem written by Banjo Paterson. We also looked behind the story, and what the words mean. There were no photos to show us what was happening in the poem, but we pictured the poem in our head and drew it onto a white board. Mrs. Then drew what the poem would have looked like in her mind. We all had a similar idea of what Mrs. Anderson had drew. With this poem we did a summary of the poem, the main idea of the poem and answered a few questions about the poem.

Day 1 SLJ Bonus Activity

For this task I had to read a poem and I had to say if I liked it and how I felt when I was reading it.


I did like the poem because it rymes and it gives really close imagination that if i was there watching people fought. I felt sad for the people who died in the war and the families that got killed too (R.I.P)

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,

Everyone was snoring just like a mouse.

Soft like a bear, such as a fear

Sweating in bed, you will regret

Sleeping and dreaming about Santa clause

Everyone gives him an applause

Santa says ho ho ho

Kids say oh no

When we see Santa wearing sandals,singlet and glasses

Kids say your growing faster

As Santa left

Kids went and slept

Till the next morning

Kids are yarning

The tree is full

Kids say wooh

Today for writing we had to make up a poem about Twas the night before Christmas,when all through the house. I had to make it as if this happen and what I would do. This is about when Santa Arrives at your house

Poem

I learnt to do a Haiku poem and the season I chose was Winter but I did all 4 Season but I check all of them and only the winter season one was the best one so I chose it and wanted to let the World see it. I learnt it by just thinking of if it was actually that season and then I just thought of if was actually cold and then i wrote down what I would actually be saying if that was happening.

Today I learned to do a Poem poster and for it we had to copy and paste the Rhymes we had on our other Document and we had to highlight all the rhymes in the Poems. I learnt it by  putting on two of my Rhymes and Explained what I found in the Poem.
