Today I have completed my second activity for day 1. This activity was where we can talk about your cultural background.
My cultural background is Samoa, My family comes from Samoa but I was born in New Zealand. The village that I live in is "Tiavea" In this village we ha a house, but it needed renovating. So we were given money to renovate it and make it look new. In Samoa we have a celebration called White Sunday. White sunday is a day in saoa where we celebrate the kids that go church. This celebration is always on the second sunday of october, I am not totally sure why but it is a great day to celebrate. My cultural is an amazing and I love it with all my heart.

ReplyDeleteHi Florence!,
ReplyDeleteGreat start of week 1 of the SLJ activities. I liked reading your Samoan cultural background and found it interesting. I've also liked how you talked about your village, Tiavea and your pets, which explains your background and what you have done in Samoa. You have an awesome cultural/family background.
Amazing Work!
Talofa Florence,
ReplyDeleteIt’s me Mani again! That is awesome that you are Samoan, do you know how to speak in the Samoan language? The thing I find interesting about Island cultures are that we all have villages that we can call our place of home. I like how proud you are of your culture too because for us islanders or polynesians, our culture is an important part of who we are! Think about maybe adding some bright colours or a few pictures to your blog post because I think it would really catch people’s attention.
You are doing awesome Florence, keep it up :)
Malo,
Mani
Kia Ora Florence! It was really interesting reading about your cultural background, I get to find out more about you. It's great to hear that you love your cultural so much, because I can say the same about Tonga. White Sunday sounds really exciting, I wish I knew more about it. This is a great start of the Summer Learning Journey!
ReplyDeleteHi Florence,
ReplyDeleteI liked how you described the small details in your post, like, how you always needed to repair your house. I also liked how you explained what White Sunday is. Do you celebrate White Sunday every year with your family?
