What Can I see - Half the picture is Day time, and the other half is night time. The birds soaring through the sky are different colors depending on the time of Day/Night. When it's dark, everything is rather black or Grey, but when it's Day time everything is rather White or grey.
For this activity, we would like you to select one of the pictures below and to study or observe it closely. What do you see?
On your blog, describe the painting in detail. What do you see when you look at it? Please give us as much detail as you can!
Hi Florence this a amazing blog post.
ReplyDeleteHello Florence! This is a really good description. I chose this painting as well, and I think it was quiet interesting. I'd say it was a bit hard to detail what you can see, except for the more obvious things. Mc Escher, the painter of "Day and Night", has created many more paintings like this one. Did you know he has made a series of paintings, including this one called "regular division of the plane"? Great work!
ReplyDeleteGreat observations Florence...do you think that if it was in colour it would add to the analysis? Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!
ReplyDeleteBuenas Noches Florence,
ReplyDeleteKa pai on completing W3D2 Activity 1. I hope you are having a lovely Friday afternoon, what are you getting up to this weekend?
Those are some great observations that you've made, about the “Day and Night” painting, you have put a lot of effort into this post. I also really like that you paid close attention to some of the smaller details and talked about it, well done! Something I noticed is that the ground in the painting is like a chess board, I think that is so creative.
Are there certain sections of this painting that you like in particular?
AdiĆ³s,
Kueni :)
Hi Florence,
ReplyDeleteI liked how you said that half of the painting is day, whilst the other is night. I find it interesting that artists can create paintings and other forms of art that can contrast. Would you want to become an artist?
