This week for the summer learning journey we have completed our second activity. This activity was about reading a text and filling in a template. In the template you had to write who the characters were, what part they played in the story and what the outcome was for them. The second activity was to complete a comic, where you had to watch a video that had no words in it, and we had to write a comic and write what we think the actors are saying. I worked with Matheus to get this completed.
Hey Florence,
ReplyDeleteI’m Daniel from the SLJ Blog commenting team. I’m looking forward to seeing all your amazing blog posts and I hope you’re enjoying your summer.
It’s awesome to see that your school is getting the younger and older students together to help each other through the task.
Your comic and answers were really good. It made me laugh, imagining these old gentlemen speaking like this. You filled out the template with a lot of detail and answered each question well.
Great stuff Florence,
See you later in the comments.
Daniel
Hi Daniel!
DeleteThank you for commenting on my blog. Yes, helping these youger students do the SLJ is a great way to guide them through their first few tasks. I'm glad that you had a laugh reading our comic strip. Specifically which text box made you laugh the most?
- Florence
Hey Florence,
DeleteYes this is a great way to help the younger students get started.
It wasn't so much any one text box in particular, just the dialogue which was so different from how you would expect old fishermen to speak and I found that quite funny.
Daniel
Talofa lava Florence!
ReplyDeleteI saw your blog post while scrolling through your blog. It is so amazing. I really liked reading your blog post today! I liked that you have added both the template as well as the comic because it helps the reader know the topic in more detail. I also liked the way you have portrayed the story on your own words as it makes it more funny.
My favourite character was Janet and the taxi driver as they were the one who made the twist in the story and made it more funny. Who was your favourite character throughout the story and why?
Keep up the great work!
-Sakshi
Hi Sakshi!
DeleteThank you for once again commenting on my blog. I'm glad that you also enjoyed my blog post. My favorite character would probably Janet too, as she didn't really care about what happened and just continued to laugh. Why was Janet and the taxi driver your favorite characters?
- Florence
Hi Florence,
ReplyDeleteThank you for answering my question. I agree, Janet really had a very funny role in through out the story. My favourite character was Janet and the taxi driver because they added a twist in the story and they just made it more hilarious. I also couldn't stop laughing when they were least bothered and were just excited to see the incident go in the headlines tomorrow. Have you read a comic before? If yes, which one and what did you like about it? If no, would you like to read one and why?
I am looking forward for your reply!
