On Monday we started the second week of the Summer Learning journey. Today's task was about Xylophones. The Xylophone is a musical instrument that consist of wooden bars that are different sizes and aare hit with metal mallets. The different sizes allow the xylophone to have different tones. In our case our task was to create our own xylophone using glass cups and paper. The glass cups task was to fill up each cup with the differnet amount of water. Using a pencil to hit each cup, the cups would make a different sound. Weither the cup had more water it had a low pitch and if it had less water the pitch was much higher. I created this task and recorded myself hitting each cup. For the paper task you had to have 5 A4 papers and roll them up and cut them to different lengths. By hitting each one it would also make different pitches due to capacity and space. I really enjoyed creating this Blog post as I was able to find out something new about music.
