Kiwi Can
This week we had Kiwi Can again. Our Kiwi Can leaders are Mr Matt and Miss Paige. Before we got into talking about respect, we played our Energiser. Our energiser was called Centre Ball. To play Centre ball you need to have a bunch of people and they have to stand in a circle. There will be one ball in the middle of everyone. Then you will be numbered 1 to 4. After we were numbered up we started the game. So one person will be yelling out a number between 1 and 4. If your number is called you have to run around everyone. Once you ran around everyone you have to go to where you were and run in it and grab the ball before everyone gets the ball. The winner is the person who gets the ball the most. After the game we had a talk about what respect we give outside of the school,In school, in class etc. We talked about if we agreed with the school rules and if we didn't we had to say why. I was in the middle of Agreeing and disagreeing. We also talked about what are some rules we would like to change. After we talked about that we played our activity. Our Activity was bus stop. To play bus stop you need a piece of paper or a white board. We had to draw a box, There were categories (Boys name,Girls name,Food,Animal,Colour and Total) What we had to do was, Someone was going to say a letter and then the groups had to write a the a word for each categorise and each of the words have to start with the letter that was called out. The winner was the group with the highest score.

Commenting
L.I to comment on someone's blog and check for any mistakes.
This week I have decided to comment on Leon's Blog. His blogpost was about what he did for inquiry. While I was reading his blurb he didn't add much information on what he did for the D.L.O. He just talked about what M.A.I.N stands for and the immediate cause. I think that he should work on talking about his D.L.O more than talking about other things that don't relate to his D.L.O.

Multiplication
L.I to use different strategies to solve an equation
This week for Math we had to create a slide presentation about multiplication. On the slide you had to include an actiivty for veiwers to interact with. That means we had to make a slide that can let people from around the world do an activty that you have made. In my D.L.O I included 3 equations for people to solve, but with those equations you had to use 3 different strategies to get the answer. Once you have got your answer you have to remove the circles to check that your answer(s) were right. Also on my D.L.O I included some strategies that I know. Those stategies can help you solve 2 of the equations, but you need to figure out a third one. I have linked some video's explaining how to do the two methos/Strategies. So you can check them out.

Key board| Dancing mat | Keyboarding drills
This week for Keyboarding I have decided to do my Level 4 Stage 1.
I learnt what fingers needed to touch them when I am typing. Also in the lesson video it did a little reminder on what I did on Level 1 Stage 1,2 and 3. I think this really helped me. Next week I will do Level 2 Stage 5, to try and complete all of the stages and levels.

Boxing | Kiwi sport
This week is our first week of Kiwi Sport. Our Kiwi Sport was Boxing. We had a girl come in and teach us the discipline of boxing. Her name was Pac's. Pac's was our coach for the term. First up we had a warm up session. For our warm up we did Knee tag. To play knee tag you had to have a partner. With that partner both of you need to try and touch each others knee using your hands. If you get tagged you got to do 1 burby. It was also tiring at the same time. After our warm up we had to get our golves and our boxing golves. We only had 16 seconds to get back and be ready. We all then had to do 1 burby because we didn't get on the floor fast enough. Then we had to choose a number with your partner. I was number 2 and my partner Victoria was number 1. The skills that we learnt was Jab and Cross. First line was 2 that had to be the rock. So that means that we need to stand stil and our partner will try and move us. Pacs shouted out Jab and cross and we had to copy what she said.

- LI: to correct certain structure and language features in a recount.
This week for writing we had to read a messed up recount. The recount was really messed up. Each group had to work on a paragraph and re write it. The Dr seuss group was control of the 3rd Paragraph. Right above is the messed up recount. It was written by Mr Wong. We were learning about Paragraph structure. We had to read the paragraph and fix it up. When I mean fix it up we had to re write the whole paragraph. Down below is the fixed recount that I wrote. I wrote it while I was reading the messed up recount. I have changed the colour of the text for the re written recount so that you know that it is the fixed Recount.

Finished Activity | Measurement
This week I have decided to pump the number of my blogpost by posting up a blog post of what I have done today. What I have done today is an Activity made by someone in LS1. We had to fill out a forms. In the form you had to fill out what we need Mr Ogilvie to cover up for us. I chose Money. So the money and Time group have to check out some peoples Activity that they made Last week. I have done an activity from Sakina. On her activities she ask people the conversion of the measurements. She also wrote the answers for people to see if there answers are correct. We had to move a circle to reveal the answer. I like how she added the Conversion part of measurement, also she added an explanation of the conversion. I really like her activity because it is easy and simple for people that don't know about Measurement and Conversion.

Sky tower recount test
This week for writing Mr Wong's writing groups got to write a recount about the sky tower trip. We had 40 minutes to complete the recount. Before we did that we did a recap on what the structure, language, order and tense was for a recount. In our recount we had to include TREE: Title, Reveal, Events and Ending. After writing our recounts Mr Wong went over with us about having a look at the writing rubric and to pick a reasonable score. When Mr Wong called us he ask if anyone would want him to look at their recount to check if the score they gave them selves was reasonable. He did that to a couple of people including me. He would go on suggesting mode and write comments of some mistakes we made in our recount.

This week for Maths we had to fill out a forum that was made by Mr Ogilvie. We got to choose what we wanted to be cleared up by (Measurement,Statistics,Number addition or Number subtraction). I chose Number addition, but I was the only person that chose number addition so I got put with the measurement group. In my D.L.O I showed the conversion of the measurements. I also made an activity that is interactive so people from around the world can do my activity.

Conflict & Resolution
This week for reading we learnt about the meanings of what Conflict and Resolution meant. We also learnt about where a conflict could happen. For example it could happen in a disagreement, argument or a fight between 2 people or a group of people. This week all of Mr Wongs reading group had to read a book called Sparks. We had to read the first to pages of the story and think of what the conflict could of been. My connection with this story is text to self, (Conflict) Because I hate sharing with my cousins and they always use it and I never know about it. Our parents would always get mad at us for not sharing to we always have to share. (Resolution) We half whatever we have so that it is even between all of us. The conflict in this story was how Dillon didn't want to to share his scooter with Harley but Harley wanted to have a ride on Dillon's scooter. The resolution to the story is that the scooter got stolen so therefor there wont be any fight over the scooter.

Maori
This week was our first lesson on Maori. Mrs Whaea Odie read us a book to us. She read the book to us 2 terms ago. We then got to watch a video of a man drawing in sand Link. After we watched the video we got to learn a new song called Hoki mai e tama ma. We learnt it by looking at lyrics and listening to the song. The Song was very catchy so i caught onto it pretty fast. After that we had to get our Computers and search up Rohe of NZ. We found a link to a site that showed us places of where the Maori tribes stayed. We learnt that they stayed near the sea because there was food for them to eat. They would sometimes find coconut trees and grab the coconuts off the tree. Because it has coconut water in it and it has the white food part in it. So the Maori tribe keep it in the back of their canoe so if they really need something to drink and eat they would have the coconut.

Kiwi Can
This week was our first session for Kiwi Can. We have a new leader that will be with us for this term and next year. We have a new topic and new theme, the topic is Respect. The theme is "For our School".
Energiser: Before we got into talking about our new topic and theme we got straight onto our energiser. our energiser was called "Rules Vs No rules". We had to play tag as our demonstration. For no rules everyone was in, so basically everyone had to tag each other. For the rules part Mr Matt and Miss Paige were the 2 taggers. Mr Matt and Miss Paige had to try and tag everyone. If you were tagged you needed to stand or sit on the lino.
Talk about new Topic and Theme:
After the energiser we got talked about our Theme and Topic. We talked about what respect could be or how we can show it. Respect is where you have to treat people the way you want to be treated. We then talked about our theme "Four our school" So basically our topic and theme were combined. Respect for our school. We had to talk about how we could show respect while in class or outside on the play ground/ field. We said that we could listen to the teacher while they are talking, when a teacher tells you to do something you do it and more.
Activity:
Next we played our activity. For our activity we had to do role play. For our role play we had to choose if we were to do the good role play or the bad one. For the role play it was about students and 1 teacher about to start having share lunch. There were also 2 new people. But the new kids forgot to bring lunch. So then we started . We had 2 people as the students 1 person as the teacher and 2 other people to be the new kids. In my group we decided to do a good role play and not a bad one. For our play we had Angelica talk to Ellenora and Miiana and she told them to get out their food for a share lunch. Then Angelica would talk to Victoria and I, She would tell us to get our lunch but we didn't bring any lunch. So the students said "Its alright we have enough food to share" So the new kids joined.
