Problem solving using Long Division
L.I: To be able to explain the steps of long division.
This week for Maths we've learnt about a new strategy called long division. It's used to solve division questions by using a certain process that breaks down each step of the strategy which makes it easier to understand and learn how to use. After practicing using it in a few maths problems, we were confident enough to try using two different websites that challenged our skill. Victoria and I collaborated on this DLO about using long division with our example of 1872 divided by 18. I personally think it's still difficult to use when I'm trying remember the order that things are written but believe it's still a very efficient strategy for solving division. Click the links below to watch the video in our DLO or visit one of the learning websites we used!

Hi Florence!
ReplyDeleteI really liked to read your blog post today. You have made a very informative google draw. It has all the information a math DLO must have. I really liked the way you have added the links as it makes it the topic more clear. Did you find this strategy difficult? If yes, do you have any other strategy to solve these types of questions. Next time try to keep the learning intention above the DLO as it makes the topic more clear. I am looking forward to read your other blogs!
Keep up the great work!
