Kiwi Can
Today we had another session of Kiwi Can. When everyone was settled we did a recap on what we talked about last week. We talked about Co-operation and how we can show that we are co-operating. We went straight onto our activity. Our activity was called Balloon Madness. To play this we got given 4 pool noodles & a balloon. The aim of the game was to get the 2 balloons to the other side of the room. Sadly 2 of our pool noodles got confiscated. We thought of strategies that we could use to get the balloon over. We need to hit the balloons with the pool noodle, but you can only hit it once then you would have to give the pool noodle to someone else to hit. We got the green balloon to the other side but not the purple one. We ended the game and talked about Co-operation. We talked about how we can show co-operation in school and outside of school. I think we can show co-operation in school by respecting the teachers, listening, contributing and participating. We then got into our activity. our activity is called Plane crash. We were given a piece of paper that had items that were left from the plane crash. We rated each item from important to non important. We were in groups of 3, in my group was Jack and Nevaeh. Jack wrote the rating and we all shared our ideas to come to a reasonable rating. This week of Kiwi Can was really fun. I enjoyed it.

Tech @ Tamaki College
This week Friday the Yr 7's did Tech with Mr. Grundy. We are all working on sawing our designs and making joints. I have made a mistake where my piece of wood is loose in my joint. I sawed the joint to far apart. I am working on trying to make my joint flat, I will need to rather get a new piece of wood or get my joint glued in. I used the Vice to use the wood chisel, I used the Mallet to help me push the Wood Chisel into my joint. I then got the help of Mr. Grundy and he cut up my small wood piece and made it circular square. I got to sand the spiky parts on my wood that was cut so that it wasn't going to give me a splinter. I will be finalising my work in the next 2 weeks. Tech was great this week, I can't wait to add more parts onto my design.
