Day 4 | Activity 1 | SLJ | Week 3

This week for the summer learning journey I completed Day 4, activity 1. This is what we had to do for this activity On your blog, use the word ‘LIGHTS’ to write an acrostic poem about the Southern Lights. Be as creative as you can! Down below is my acrostic poem.

Love the brightness
I phone torches lighting up
Glowing areas
Happy smiles spreading
The crowd dancing of joy!
Snapping great memory pics

  4. Hello Florence! Well done, I really enjoyed reading your poem. I loved the idea for talking about what is going on in each line. Would you really want to visit the Northern lights one time? Who would you go with to seem them? Keep it up!

  5. Talofa lava Florence,

Congratulations on writing a fabulous acrostic poem about lights. I like how you have made this about capturing the moment with cameras and flashlights. It was an interesting twist. How clever to think of an 'i-phone' for the letter 'I'!

Did you learn about these type of poems at school? An acrostic poem is a poem where certain letters in each line spell out a word or phrase. This means you can even use your name to write a poem! Your first name has 8 letters so it might be challenging. Let your creative juices flow and have a go! Challenge yourself!

    Talk soon,
    Susie :)
