Day 2 | Activity 3 | SLJ | Week 3

This week for the summer learning journey I have completed day 2, activity 3. This is what we had to do for this activity. On your blog, tell us how you would solve this tricky maths problem. Be sure to also post your final answer in days or weeks. Down below is my answer to the maths question.

How long will it take to get rid of the airborne mould from the classroom? There are 7 kinds of mould and the cleaner says that it take 5 days to remove the mould. So I multiplied 7 by 5. 7 x 5 = 35.I think that the answer to this maths question is 35. I can prove this answer is right because 5 x 7 = 35. In weeks this will take 5 weeks to remove the mould.

  1. Greetings Florence,

Great Work. You are focusing really hard on whats happening in the SLJ. I like it how you've explained what you needed to do for this activity. The formula and answer that you have used is correct. I got that same answer too.

    Nice Work!

  3. Hi there Florence,

Well done! You have got the correct answer for this maths question. I like how you have written down your strategy by explaining what you did step-by-step. It was easy to follow.

Don't forget to write down the units (days, weeks) because without these units we do not know what the numbers actually represent. I can see that you've changed you final answer into 'weeks' and said that it will take 5 weeks to remove the mould. Ka pai! Remember to put 'days' after the number '35' as well.

Both '35 days' and '5 weeks' are correct answers for this question :)

    Keep up the good work,
    Susie
