Yesterday we had a scavenger hunt challenge The children in my group were Victoria,Raera,Terangimarie and I.
First we had to make a daisy chain. We had a few difficulties making the chain but then we finally finished.Next we had to do a cartwheel. It was fun. After that we had to measure the width of the netball court. Then we had to make a letter with our body. We made the letter Y and it was great fun. Finally we had to go to the library and write the titles of 3 Gerinomo Stilton books and 3 GooseBump books.Next we took a photo of an oblong shape. We had to find the shape on the outside of one of the school building. Finally we took a group selfie and went back to class to calm down.
Kia ora Florence,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you, Victoria, Raera and Terangimarie had a great time with the scavenger hunt! I love doing scavenger hunts as well, particularly when they include activities and reading!
This summer I have been doing a lot of reading and quite a bit of blogging, too. I'm actually running a holiday blogging programme called a Summer Learning Journey. It's a programme that is based on the idea of travel and adventure (just like a scavenger hunt)!
To participate in the programme, you simply hop onto the Summer Learning Journey website (https://sites.google.com/site/summerlearningjourney/welcome), click on the 'Weekly Activities' tab and choose from one of 60 different activities.
Once you have chosen an activity you post your answer to the activity on your blog site. I will check your blog site regularly and I will write comments on your posts! I also have other teachers who are working with me who will read your posts and provide comments as well.
It's a lot of fun! Everyone who blogs with us earns points and the students with the most points earn cool prizes. Everyone who participates also earns a certificate and a badge.
I really hope that you will consider blogging with us this holiday. We'd love to have you join the Summer Learning Journey team!
Cheers,
Rachel (and the Summer Learning Journey programme team)
Dear Kira Ora Florence,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your blog. It sounds like you and your friends had a really fun time together. I am in Grade 8 and I live in Toronto Canada, and I am in Grade 8. I am currently reading a book by Jenny Han, one of my favorite authors. I really recommend her. I used to do cartwheels all the time too. I hope you keep blogging, I really enjoy your posts!
