Kiwi Can

This week for kiwi Can we have been learning about self Control. Our Topic is Self Control and our theme is Resilience. Today we have been talking about the things that can distract us, also we have been talking about what can help us stay focused whilst doing a task. Listing the different things that can distract us is like other priorities, chatting with friends, social media, online games, distracted by others, email notifications and not paying attention. We talked about how we can stop getting distracted. We learned about the differences of being Distracted or distracting someone. We learned that getting distracted is when someone is having you not being focused and that distracting someone is when you are making someone not able to focus on their work. Our activity was where their is a group of 5 people, one person is singing a song, another person is writing a umber on their.

Facts Or Opinion

This week for reading we have been looking at Facts and Opinions. We learnt the difference between Facts and Opinions, we also learnt that in a fact someone is saying something true, but someone giving an opinion is saying something they think but maybe other people think differently. We made a DLO that was based on Facts, we were given options to rather be in pairs or to work by yourself. I worked with Victoria for this reading DLO. We both did some research on people wanting to ban plastic straws and on people who don't want to ban them. With all the information we have gathered we think that it is pointless to ban plastic straws because most pollution is caused from straws and that there are more things causing our animals to die.
