Coding w/ Ms. Ferguson

L.I To code the M-bots to sensor the race track.

This week was the last tech session at Tamaki College for Term 2. Today we have been doing challenges to see if our M-bots were fast enough to win the race. The race was where the robots had to use their sensors to sensor the track. It was a race for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. THe prizes were chocolate eggs. We had a big track that the M-bot had to go around, Luckily I won the race with the time of 31.32 Seconds, Matthew came second with the time of 31.86 seconds, and Sakshi came 3rd with 32.38 seconds. I enjoyed tech this week because I was able to win the challenge.

Tech @ Tamaki College

L.I To use the infrared sensors to follow the line

This week at tech we learnt a new word. The word is "Infrared".  Infrared are sensors that can follow something that it is told to sense. We used Infrared on our M-bots to make the M-bot follow a line. We also used our knowledge from last week's lesson (Binary Numbers) to change the variables in the coding. We also learnt about "Ultra sonic Violet" This is the red colors are in a slower wave motion, but the Blue part of the rainbow is in a quicker motion.  I enjoyed this weeks tech because I got to learn a new word.

Tech @ Tamaki College

L.I to complete a series of challenge in binary numbers.

This week at tech we did binary numbers with Ms. Ferguson. We learn that the word "Bi" in "Binary" means 2, and the word "Dec" in "Decimal" means 10. We played a game that challenged oue binary knowledge, we also completed a DLO that challenged us to use our binary knowledge and change the numbers from 1 - 26 to binary numbers. Next we were challenged to write our name in binary numbers, and also do a message in binary number. I enjoyed today's tech session because I got to learn new words.

L.I To learn how to code an m-bot to sense something by using the force.

This week for tech we have been coding our M-Bots to sensor something. We have been coding our M-Bots so that if it sensors something in front of it, it will go backwards, if nothing is sensored, then it will continue to go forwards. We revised a new block called the "Ultrasonic Sensor". We have created a presentation showcasing the blocks that we revised, the block we need to use, the Input, the algorithm and the Output, The video of our M-bot sensoring and lastly, showcasing the blocks we used to code our m-bots and what the blocks did. I enjoyed this weeks tech session because my M-bot successfully did what it was suppose to do.

Tech @ Tamaki College | Robotics

Today at tech we have started our new tech rotation. Our rotation for the next few weeks is robotics, with Ms. Ferguson. Today we have been playing with the M-bots, we started coding the robots to go in a square form. Then made the robots do a little victory dance at the end, along with playing a song. We did this by using the codes on the M-link site, we revised a lot of the coding that we did previously with Mr. Krishna. To make sure that our M-Bots were moving the way that we wanted them to move, we tested them on the ground. If they didn't move the way we wanted them to look, then we go back and change the codes.

Some codes that we revisited -
The codes we revised were "When m(mcore) starts up" , "Wait until" , "Repeat" , "Move forward at the power (  )" , "Turn Right at the power (  )" and the "LEDS".
