Information about Gourds

This Friday we created a D.L.O on our knowledge of gourds. This D.L.O was created in groups, the group I was in was with Florence, Ellenora, Lukah, Rj and Acein. The D.L.O includes Facts about gourds, information about gourds and a photo of gourds. I enjoyed this activity because we did skimming and scanning and it was fun having this connected with Reading, Cybersmart, Writing and inquiry.

Life at PBS Gold Respect

Today I have completed my last activity for my gold respect. This activity was to make a DLO showcasing life at PBS. In this DLO I showed the Student leaders of Panmure Bridge school, each teacher from each class, some sports that we do at PBS and the learning that we do. I really enjoyed doing this activity as I was able to go through the school site and shared folders to find the images.

Maths Challenge

This week for maths we have been solving Maths Challenges that were set out from Mrs. Anderson. This question above is one of the 4 independent questions I completed. This activity was where we would solve 4 questions that we do by ourselves and then do another 1 with your math group, I worked with Taheesha. I solved this questions using the strategy Algorithm and Long Subtraction.

Past and Present

This week for Reading we have been working on Explorers and Adventurers. We have completed this task of Past and Present, We wrote what Kupe travelled on, and the problems he had when voyaging to NZ. We did the same thing for Captain cook, writing down what he voyaged on, and the problems he had. Lastly we wrote what people use today for travelling. Today people use planes, we wrote down what could be the problem with planes today. I worked with my reading group "Kiwi".

Maths Maniacs

This week in Maths we made a collaborative DLO with some questions that were based on the Auckland Marathon statistics. The information in these statistics described the number of Marathon Participants, an amount of objects, or when the event would be taking place. We tried exploring different strategies and using a variety of math language in our questions. Our group was able to come up with no less than 5 challenge questions.

Thinking Challenge

This week for Maths we have been doing a Thinking Challenge. I worked with my Maths Group “Hexagons' ' or Ong, Karlos, Matthew and Azatulah. We were given a thinking challenge math equation to solve, we would do it separately but, we would share our strategy with each other then choose one way of solving the equation. The way we chose to solve the equation was place value.
