Today I have completed another Step it up challenge for the SLJ. This activity was about creating another origami boat different from the first one you made. I made a Square end boat and thought it was really hard to make. I got confused at some points but I got there. I also messed up the back part of the boat so it looked wierd. Overall it floated, and ended up falling in the end.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

Today I have completed another SLJ activity. This activity was about getting together with your family and singing a christmas song. I wasn't able to get my whole family together so I decided to just create a google presentation with pictures related to my culture and have a song from my culture to play in the background. I also didn't have photos from christmas as we were busy catching up with family and didn't have much time to take pictures. I hope that this presentation was enough to complete the activity.

In these lyrics they could include "places, events and objects that are unique to NZ." I tried my best to fit in these particular wishes that would rhyme and work with the song. I also added a picture next to each song so that it would look cool and go along with the song. I will be posting the recording soon after.

Today I have completed another Sumemr Learning Journey activity. This activity was about creating an infographic about one place in New Zealand. This infographic included a photo as the background of the DLO, and text boxes at the bottom stating some facts about the place I chose. In my case, I chose Rotorua as my place. I uploaded a pic of the skyline ride in rotorua as the background because it looked really cool and was a good image to use. I really enjoyed creating this activity as I had already had a fact because I have been to this tourist attraction before.
SLJ Week 4 Activity 17
Today I have completed another activity for the Summer Learning Journey. This activity was about listening to audios of someone saying sentences in Maori. These sentences would be tranlating to what flavoured ice cream someone wanted. While listening to these audios you had to write down what you heard. Once you finsihed writing the sentences you had to delete a box that had the correct sentence under it. For me I was really proud with the outcome as all the sentences I had written were all closely correct. The last part of the task was to create you own sentence using google translate to say what flavours you would like, you were also allowed to make your own ice cream scoop drawing. I enjoyed creating this activity as I got most of the Maori sentences correct.

Both Sakshi and my comment were not the right size to fit into the boxes so it may be hard to read our comments. I enjoyed this activity as I also got to get points from the comment I left.

SLJ Week 2 Activity 12
Today I have completed another task for the SLJ. This task was about learning about what pigpen cipher was and creating a pigpen cipher code. Pigpen cipher was a type of communication and was used back in the 18th century to send private messages to other bases. Pigpen cipher can be easily learnt by looking at how the layout is created. Each letter had its own little space, rather it was a square or a triangle, it will tell which letter is which. Letters from A - I are regular squares. Letters from H - R are squares but with dots in the middle. Letters from S - V are triangle shaped, and letters from W - Z are triangles with dots in the middle. I really enjoyed creating this activty as I was able to learn another way of communication.
