Comprehension slide | Comparing Myths,legends and fairy tales.
L.I to remind ourselves where each comprehension strategy goes when reading. L.I to find the diferences between This week for reading we learnt the difference between Myths,legends and fairy tales. We also had to remind ourselves where each comprehension strategy goes when you are reading a book. We had to use a triple compare and contrast D.L.O to see what the differences are between the 3. The strategies are Visualizing,inferring,Activating prior knowledge,predicting,self-monitor,synthesize,questioning and summarizing. For these tasks I worked with Farzana. We work together to find out information about the 3 things. For the comprehension slide we wrote down where the comprehension strategies go and we wrote why they should go in the place. For the triple compare and contrast we wrote down the differences and similarity between the 3. We read 2 articles to find out the information we need to put into our D.L.O.

Multiplying fractions
L.I to multiply fractions to get the right answer. This week for maths we had to multiply fractions. The fraction that I multiplied was 3/5 and I timed it by 7, so 3/5 x 7. I worked my way to finding my answer. I had to demonstrate how to multiply a fraction.

What is Media?
Media is like social apps. Media could also be full of information like Newspaper reports,Weather reports and much more. I worked with Victoria and Farzana on this task. We worked together to give in out ideas of what media might be. Here are my thoughts. Media could be medium for example: (Social Apps) Like T.v,Email app,texting app,music app,shopping app and much more. Media is a great example to communicate with people but also a very public place to be. Media is also a great place to search for information

Kiwi Sport
This week for Kiwi sport it was our first session of our first Sport. It was Snag golf. What we learnt was that when we were to hold a golf club we have to move our body to swing. We practiced that by holding a ball and swinging our arm. We also practiced by swinging our body. With the ball we had to throw/roll the ball to the target. If we hit the target we had to shout "SNAG!" I was in a group of three with Victoria and Alayah. On the first Activity we had to throw/Roll the ball on the target. On the second activity we had to have our toes facing the hall witch was the right and then swing our arm the throw/roll the ball and see if it landed on the target.On the last activity we had to throw/Roll the ball to the target but there were two cones in between the blue and red color. We had 2 turns to get the ball on the target and 3 balls to see if the ball goes on the target. We had consequences for the boundaries. We also had a hoop in front of us. We had to try and bounce the ball inside the hoop and then hopefully the ball goes on the target. If the ball misses the hoop then you had to do 5 star jumps, If the ball misses and goes out then that's 10 star jumps,if the ball hits the white cone and goes on the target then that's no star jumps and if the ball misses the cone and goes on the red boundary than that 5 star jumps. Next week we will be using the golf club and practice our swinging.
Visualizing & Questioning
This week for reading we learnt 2 strategies. They were Questioning and Visualizing. Visualizing is when you read a book that has no pictures and think about what the story said and imagine a picture of what happen in your head.Questioning is were you ask a question about something. For Example: What's your name?
Manaikalani Film Festival Idea
L.I to plan out a what our film festival should be about this year.. This week for writing we had to write a brainstorm plan for an Idea for the Manaiakalani film Festival. This is my groups draft Idea. We haven't finished planing out everything. But we have finished writing out what we want our film to be about. I hope that we get chose to be the directors of the film.

Duffy theatre
Thank you duffy for coming in to our school and comunicating with all our students and for teaching us things that we need to work on or not do, so that in the up coming future you will be a good person and will not do anything bad. So that you can look back and be proud that you learnt this earlier or you wouldn't have turned out to be the person you are today. The show was telling us to never be a bully,never boss people around,Never call people names and don't take there lunch if you have none.

Blogging Challenge | 3
Today I went to the library to use the Internet and read books. On the internet I did a D.L.O for my Mom and her sisters birthday. I went with My Cousin Eric. We both worked on the D.L.O to make sure it was what our moms would like. Our Moms B Days are on the same day so the D.L.O was for both of the. We hope that they like the D.L.O. But the Books I read were Sisters and Geronimo Stilton books. I really enjoyed reading the books because they teach me new words that I have never heard of.

Today I have commented on Victoria's Blog Post. She has written what happen at the game show that she had going on in her class room. I gave her two questions to answer when she has seen the comment and told her what she needed to work on. This week for the blogging challenge I made a blog post for my Mom and her sister because it is their birthdays tomorrow. I made this with Eric ( My Cousin). We added what their Personalities were and what they love most doing. We made this to show them on their Birthday. Eric will be posting this D.L.O on his Facebook account and our parents will see them. So I hope they like the D.L.O we made for them.

Today I am reading the book (Sisters) It is about two sisters that don't seem to get along. They go out on a trip to Colorado and always fight at argue to everything they can argue about. Amara got a pet snake but Raina didn't like snakes. They had a big accident where the snake climbed inside the car seat and stayed in there for days. The snake type was a king snake. Amara keeps fighting with Raina, Rain does the same thing back. By the end of the trip Amara and Raina finally figured out how to be nice to each other. It was for them to give each other what they asked for. Raina asked for some batteries and Amara asked for some colored pencils.

Inquiry Quiz
This term we made a Quiz challenge for the last day of term 2. The quiz had 3 round that were the Drawing round,the sculpting round and the questioning round. For drawing we had to draw out anything the teacher ask to draw.For sculpting we had to sculpt out anything the teacher says to sculpt. There we 6 Drawing rounds,6 sculpting rounds and 6 questioning rounds.For questioning the teachers would ask a question and the students would have to answer as fast as they can. The buzzer was to clap your hands together over your head.

Boost | Quiz
. To make a quiz about the story you read.
This week for reading we created a quiz on the book we read. The 4 groups read different books, But Malificent and Thor was reading the same book called Boost , Pearcy Jackson was reading Not so Normal and Harry Vader was reading Man and sea. We used the google documents from last week to help us use our Prior Knowlege. In our groups we could partner up with somebody reading the same book, I was partner with Kaitlyn because me and Kaitlyn was reading the same book.
Kaitlyn and I was using Kahoot to make our Boost Quiz. We needed to do 10 questions from the book that we were reading. The questions We needed to come up with was Author and me or On my own. Me and Kaitlyn shared our ideas and see if that would help us work coropitively and make our work more detailed and more interesting. Kaitlyn and i worked together niclely so we can each create something and show and blog good work so our teachers can give us good feedback to what we need to work on.
Boost was about a girl called Zaza that was upsessed with tails because she keep stroking it and touching it. Then Zaza went prancing around showing off her tail to everybody in the school , But her bestfreind Hine never liked tails because thought it was too dusty to fluffly and would make her sneeze. Mrs clark was the main teacher in there she was shocked and wanted too know why her class students was wearing extension tails.
So she made it clearly to everybody in her class " IS THIS A CLASSROOM OR A ZOO" You can already tell that Mrs Clark was angry because she had no clue why they were wearing them. Extension means adding on to something that has been already made. Read the book you will find more interesting bits that haven't told you. - BOOK BOOST! ALSO play me and Kaitlyns Quiz ! ENIJOY! - QUIZ GAME - PLAY IT!

ASB Getwise
This week we had the ASB getwise come in to talk to us about how to save money when you but something. We spelt out Cash and C stand for Clear,A stands for Action,S stands for Save and H stands for How long. Clear mean how you had to be clear of what you buy,Action meant to take action and getting the item,Save meant to save more money then to spend and How long mean how long you need to save more money. The things we had to look for when buying this is the color,the brand,the size,the shape and the cost. Soe ASB is all about banking money. When you give money in you get paid money back.
The silent Red Book
This week for writing we watched a silent book. A silent book is a book with no words in it. We had to write down what the story might of been about. I think it was about a little girl who find a dog and decides to take care of it and they watch the sun set and saw a shooting star. I have made a slide presentation to show what I thought the story was talking about. I drew some photos and I got the photos from The Literacy Shed.
Matariki Celebration
This week we had a Matariki celebration outside. Our whole school participated in this event. The Senior and junior Kapa haka group performed and so did the Pasifica group. We got sausage sizzles and we got 2 for each person. I was in the Pasifica group so I performed in front of everyone. I enjoyed the whole day because it was full of excitement and was really tiring. In the Pasifica group we did a cook island dance for our dance with our school uniform on.
The junior kapa haka/Boys did the haka while the girls danced with the traditional skirt and tattoo/fake. The seniors did something similar, the boys did the haka but the girls used the poi and danced with the traditional skirt and tattoo/fake. The songs that were sang was E nga iwi e,Rona and the Moon,Tenei Matoe,Matariki Macarena,Lean on me and heaps more. We would like to thank Mrs Whaia Odie and her husband for bringing in the sausage sizzle and organizing all of this. Also Thank you to Mr Johnston for helping with this event.This again was to celebrate Matariki and the six sisters.

Matariki
L.I to understand what Matariki is about. This week for Maori we had a Matariki Celebration. I worked with Magenta,Fui,Joel and Sandra. We made D.L.O's about Matariki and how we collaborated with LS2. We made a Slide presentation and a Google drawing. The Google Draw was for the Poster and the Slide presentation was for what Matariki is about. We made eleven Slides for the Slide presentation. We did some research on What Matariki is about. We found out the Matariki was about the 7 sisters. I wrote down facts about the Matariki stars and what they mean. During our process through creating our presentation we all worked collaboratively and as a group we had lots of fun. As our guide we used our researching Skills and we also watched videos that helped get a more understanding meaning to our Presentation. I think as a class LS1 and LS2 really bought the Matariki spirit to the game.

MnM fractions
L.I to understand corresponding fractions,decimals and percentages. L.I To understand mixed numbers, Improper, Proper and equivalent fractions. This week for maths we had to work on a google doc. We worked on fractions and how we can use them to add and multiply. We used some MnMs for the doc. We had to write what colors there were in the packet and how many MnMs all together and did some math with them. We showed the data on 2 graphs the first one was a Pie graph and a Bar graph. At the end of the whole thing we got to eat the MnMs
